And so the conversation goes:

me: ok..*shows the 7 steps*
kor: wha lao..you think water and soap free one ar?? think by the time i finish, i'd miss my bus la!!
me: ...........

over dinner:
kor: eh, if Swine flu hits, will u get quarantined in the hospital??
me: obviously not
kor: eee..then you'll be bringing home the virus
me: we have to shower and change before we leave the premises la
kor to des: eh, we wait for her at the lift, the moment she walks out, we use the fire hosereel and hose her down k!
des: hahahaha
dad: ya!! hose her down like bathing pigs like that!
me: wha lao eh.....

Entering the hospital was a little different today, at the lift landings and the entrance at B2 pharmacy, there were "gantries" set up to monitor visitors that come and go, there seemed to be lesser visitors around at level 1. All the hype about Swine Flu is getting to me!! the only thing i'm happy about it is the possibility of us reverting back to wearing scrubs. Other than that, every afternoon's roll call is seemingly LONG! sisters briefing us on the latest updates. apparently, we are supposed to "clear" the ward just in case, seeing that TTSH is the hospital for infectious diseases. everyone is just hoping it wont happen, but oh wells. In a way, its gonna be a challenge for everyone, but the fear is evident all around the hospital. Sigh, i seriously hope nothing happens!
